Un filmulet interesant, foarte scurt (11 min.), care a castigat cateva premii internationale. Enjoy!

These are from a book called Disorder in the American Courts, and are things people actually said in court, word for word, taken down and now published by court  reporters that had the  torment of staying calm while these exchanges were actually taking place.

ATTORNEY: What was the first thing your husband said to you that morning?
WITNESS: He said, 'Where am I, Cathy?'
ATTORNEY: And why did that upset you?
WITNESS: My name is Susan!

ATTORNEY: She had three children, right?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: How many were boys?
WITNESS: None.
ATTORNEY: Were there any girls?
W ITNESS : Your Honor, I think I need a different attorney. Can I get a new attorney?

ATTORNEY: How was your first marriage terminated?
WITNESS: By death.
ATTORNEY: And by whose death was it terminated?
WITNESS: Take a guess.

ATTORNEY: Now doctor, isn't it true that when a person dies in his sleep, he doesn't know about it until the next morning?
WITNESS: Did you actually pass the bar exam?

ATTORNEY: The youngest son, the twenty-year-old, how old is he?
WITNESS: He's twenty, much like your IQ.

ATTORNEY: Doctor, how many of your autopsies have you performed on dead people?
WITNESS: All of them. The live ones put up too much of a fight.

ATTORNEY: Do you recall the time that you examined the body?
WITNESS: The autopsy started around 8:30 p.m.
ATTORNEY: And Mr. Denton was dead at the time?
WITNESS: If not, he was by the time I finished.

ATTORNEY: Were you present when your picture was taken?
WITNESS: Are you shitting me?

ATTORNEY: So the date of conception (of the baby) was August 8th?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And what were you doing at that time?
WITNESS: Getting laid.

ATTORNEY: What gear were you in at the moment of the impact?
WITNESS: Gucci sweats and Reeboks.

ATTORNEY: Are you sexually active?
WITNESS: No, I just lie there.

ATTORNEY: This myasthenia gravis, does it affect your memory at all?
WITNESS: Yes.
ATTORNEY: And in what ways does it affect your memory?
WITNESS: I forget.
ATTORNEY: You forget? Can you give us an example of something you forgot?

ATTORNEY: Do you know if your daughter has ever been involved in voodoo?
WITNESS: We both do.
ATTORNEY: Voodoo?
WITNESS: We do.
ATTORNEY: You do?
WITNESS: Yes, voodoo.

ATTORNEY: Can you describe the individual?
WITNESS: He was about medium height and had a beard.
ATTORNEY: Was this a male or a female?
WITNESS: Unless the Circus was in town I'm going with male.

ATTORNEY: Is your appearance here this morning pursuant to a deposition notice which I sent to your attorney?
WITNESS: No, this is how I dress when I go to work.

ATTORNEY: ALL your responses MUST be oral, OK? What school did you go to?
WITNESS: Oral.

ATTORNEY: Are you qualified to give a urine sample?
WITNESS: Are you qualified to ask that question?

And the best for last:

ATTORNEY: Doctor, before you performed the autopsy, did you check for a pulse?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for blood pressure?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: Did you check for breathing?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: So, then it is possible that the patient was alive when you began the autopsy?
WITNESS: No.
ATTORNEY: How can you be so sure, Doctor?
WITNESS: Because his brain was sitting on my desk in a jar.
ATTORNEY: I see, but could the patient have still been alive, nevertheless?
WITNESS: Yes, it is possible that he could have been alive and practicing law.

Fericirea... Toti ne dorim asta, dar cati o avem? Si ce facem cu ea atunci cand o avem?

Nu stiu de ce, dar mi se pare ca oamenii nu mai stiu sa fie fericiti. Spun asta pentru ca am intalnit multe persoane care chiar asa mi-au lasat impresia. Si chiar eu am trait asta pe pielea mea de mai multe ori...

Cand esti singur, esti nefericit... iti gasesti tot felul de defecte... gasesti si altora... Mereu se gasesc motive care sa strice starea de bine. Dar de cele mai multe ori, principalul motiv e frica... Frica de a fi fericit... Si stai apoi si te intrebi cat o sa dureze, pentru ca in capul tau, sigur o sa se termine. Si ajungi sa iti plangi de mila...

Chiar vorbeam cu o prietena acum ceva timp, si dupa o lunga perioada nu prea fasta, a ajuns sa fie fericita. Si apoi era suparata ca nu stie cat o sa mai dureze... si ca ea vrea sa dureze ca e totul bine si frumos. Bine ca e desteapta si stie cand sa ma asculte ... si acum e totul ok.

Despre frica am mai vorbit de cateva ori. Incep sa cred ca frica ne impiedica sa traim cu adevarat. Daca ne e frica si de lucrurile bune, ceva sigur nu e in regula.

De ce nu putem fi fericiti si atat? Acum... cat este...

Taken (2008)

"Taken" este un thriller plin de actiune si suspans, care evidentiaza probleme grave ale societatii moderne precum traficul de carne vie si coruptia existenta in politica si in interiorul politiei si al serviciilor secrete.

In regia lui Martin Scorsese. In rolurile principale sunt Leonardo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Jack Nicholson, Mark Wahlberg. Nota pe IMDB: 8,5. Castigator a 4 premii Oscar.

“Cartita” este plasat in sudul Bostonului, acolo unde Departamentul de Politie al statului Massachusetts a declarat un razboi total, menit sa distruga varfurile crimei organizate. Ideea este sa se puna capat domniei puternicului cap al mafiei, Frank Costello, actionandu-se din interiorul structurii mafiote. Un tanar novice, Billy Costigan, care a crescut in sudul Bostonului, este cel desemnat sa se infiltreze in cercurile mafiei conduse de Costello.

Cristi mi-a atras atentia asupra unui lucru care daca nu ar fi atat de grav, m-ar bufni rasul.

Treaba sta cam asa: Niste oameni din comuna Marginea din Suceava au construit un pod care fusese stricat de inundatii intr-o singura zi, dupa ce de peste 8 luni statul nu a facut nimic. Acum, dupa ce au fost amendati, ei risca sa ajunga si la puscarie pentru ca Directia Apelor Siret a facut o sesizare penala. Ca s-a construit fara autorizatie... ca doar sunt tarani si nu supara pe nimeni daca sunt amendati. In Bucuresti s-au construit blocuri de locuinte fara nici o autorizatie si nu s-a intamplat nimic.

Si asta nu e singurul caz. Sunt multe, dar nu se stie de ele...
